Pick-up Girl

Written by Florenz Branch in 1946.

Vintage Romance paperback - Walgates' drug store made a point of hiring counter girls with eye appeal, and curvaceous Anne Kelly was not the least of their attractions. When customers decided she had what they wanted, they weren't necessarily thinking of toast and orange juice. Anne was, however; she reserved all the rest for Ed Connor. Of course, Ed was poor and had nothing to offer her BUT love. And Mark Enrich was willing to supply the luxuries she craved if Anne would work for him in her off-hours.

Anne would have continued to be simply a model for Mark if Ed had not been led astray by glamour in the form of a wealthy socialite. Whereupon Anne was tempted to earn her mink coat.
